Sammi (Senior Occupational Therapist / Practice Owner)
Sammi is a registered Paediatric Occupational Therapist with over 12 years clinical experience in both private and public sector in Australia and the UK.
She is passionate about working with children who have difficulties with sensory processing, behaviour, fine and gross motor skills, self help skills, attention and concentration skills and social interaction. Sammi uses family- centred and strength based therapy to help children engage in meaningful activities.
Sammi is able to offer families and children a wide variety of therapy interventions to help meet each child’s individual functional goals. She has a specialist interest in working with children who have Sensory Processing Difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, ADHD or poor attention and difficulties following a TBI.
She is registered to provide services and programs with Life Insurance jurisdictions, NDIS and Medicare (Enhanced primary care plans) and is trained to use the SoSafe! framework to enhance her practice skills.
Sammi is a qualified teacher of Kids and Family Rainbow Yoga and runs regular group sessions during school holidays and one-to-one sessions on request.
Lucy (Occupational Therapist)
Lucy graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Hons) degree and delivers a comprehensive service that incorporates client, family and occupation-centred approaches to practice. Lucy focusses on engagement and meaningful participation in occupation, embracing her creativity and evidence-based methods in order to help children reach their potential and make a positive impact in their lives.
Lucy has volunteered with the Riding for the Disabled Association, worked within outpatient hospital clinics, and the Queensland Education Department. She has experience with a variety of diagnoses, including ASD, ADD, ADHD, behavioural disorders, Cerebral Palsy, spinal injury, and cognitive impairment. Lucy is competent with a wide range of standardised and non-standardised Paediatric Assessments, including behavioural, fine and gross motor, handwriting and sensory processing.
Lucy is able to assist with fine and gross motor development, handwriting, independence in self-care activities, equipment prescription, development of social skills and more. She has special interest in assisting children to become more engaged with their school environment to increase their access to the curriculum. She is able to use her holistic view of practice to assist, drive and motivate children to meet their goals.
Lucy has attended Handwriting Without Tears Pre-K Readiness & Writing Workshop, Print (Transitional Kindergarten-2nd Grade) Handwriting Workshop and the Handwriting Assessment Workshop.

Lavanya (Occupational Therapist)
Lavanya has a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from Dr.M.G.R. University, Chennai, India. She started her career as a Hand Therapist at the “Institute for Research and Rehabilitation of Hands”, also working as a university based clinical tutor/therapist managing a caseload of adult and geriatric clients with conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy and clients in palliative care.
In a previous role as a keyworker (family centered approach) Lavanya gained extensive experience working in the paediatric field. She utilises various inputs including standardised assessments, questionnaires and structured observation processes to understand a child’s current ability to achieve their roles in play, kinder/school participation, social interactions and family responsibilities. Lavanya applies developmental approaches to working with children to help them fully participate in therapy sessions and deliver the best possible outcomes for children and their families.
Lavanya has experience working with children with a range of conditions including dyslexia, autism, developmental delays, ADHD and physical disabilities. She has worked closely with parents/carers (and various key stakeholders) to identify goals for their children and families, and support them to achieve these in the setting of their choice (home, school and other early childhood settings). Lavanya is experienced in delivering interventions for sensory processing, play skills, behavioural interventions, emotional dysregulation, gross motor and fine motor skills. Lavanya values the importance of regulation techniques including mindfulness and Alert program principles.
Lavanya has also worked as an Early Childhood - Early Interventional Coordinator for NDIS EACH where her primary duties included conducting eligibility screens and linking children who have not met the NDIS eligibility criteria to community and mainstream services. She has strong a knowledge of the NDIS system and also experience in developing NDIS plans for clients according to the NDIS guidelines. Lavanya has provided clients waiting for NDIS plan approval with short term/interim intervention support. This involved providing complex clients with conditions like spinal muscular atrophy, chromosomal abnormalities, with Assistive technology such as corner chairs, modified strollers, switch toys.
Jenny (Occupational Therapist)
Jenny completed a Bachelor of Psychology/Arts and Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance before completing a Master of Occupational Therapy at University of Canberra. This has provided her with a well-rounded knowledge and skill base which enables her to view her clients holistically.
During internships and in her previous role, Jenny has worked with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing difficulties, ADHD, and developmental delay, including children with fine and gross motor delays, and difficulties with handwriting and independence in self-care skills. This has exposed her to various techniques such as the Alert Program, Handwriting without Tears, and the Co-Op Approach.
Jenny has completed shadowing and internships at the Paediatric Occupational Therapy Student Led Clinic at University of Canberra, Katungul Aboriginal Medical Centre in Narooma, a Return-to-Work private company, and has worked as an Occupational Therapist in Aged Care. Jenny has also previously worked in childcare, after school hours care, and as a Learning Support Assistant in ACT schools.
Jenny developed a sound knowledge of the NDIS in her previous role as an NDIS Early Childhood Early Intervention Coordinator, where her primary duties involved writing recommendations for funding for children aged 0-7 for NDIS, in-line with reasonable and necessary guidelines of NDIS, and meeting with families to determine if NDIS was the right pathway for them, and linking them to supports in the community.
Jenny has attended the three day Learn to Play Therapy course with Karen Stagnitti, and understands the importance of play in child development. Jenny is passionate about helping her clients to achieve their potential and engage in activities that are meaningful to them.

Katherine (Allied Health Assistant)
Katherine comes from a background of early education, with over 15 years experience working with children. Her experience comes from her role as an early childhood education and as a Nanny in Australia and the UK as well as her role as a swimming instructor. Katherine holds a diploma of early education and teacher of swimming with additional qualifications enabling her to teach swimming to learners with disabilities. Katherine is also working towards a certificate iv Allied health assistant.
Katherine's work in education setting's has exposed her to children with a range of individual needs and she has a passion for working with children with ASD. Katherine wants to see every child reach their full potential and understands they have their own set of unique skills and abilities and ways of achieving their goals. Katherine prides herself on her relationships with children and their families and through these relationships is able to foster each child's development through their strengths.
